Covid 19 vaccination rollout progress

Updated: Mar 2, 2021

The progress for rollout of our population is appalling compared with Northern Ireland and the UK. We have only vaccinated 5% of the population. The vaccine us saving lives. The failure of the European Union and the government to get adequate supplies is costing lives and livelihoods. We are being kept in the misery of lockdown and restricting our basic liberties. The slow rollout of this vaccine is the biggest threat to businesses in Ireland. The pharmaceutical companies use Ireland as base for manufacturing and take advantage of our skill force and tax regime. The IMO have stated that if the vaccine was available they could vaccinate the over 70's in 6 weeks and not 12 weeks as the government has scheduled. We must accelerate the pace of the vaccination and resolve the logistics and supply issues with the program. 37 centres have been announced throughout the country, when they go live? There should also be an online system which allows the public to attend any vaccination centre in the country. I urge the government to move swiftly on the rollout of vaccinations.
